Firefighters rescue 9 hikers and guide in dramatic nighttime operation

On the night of Saturday, May 3, Brazilian firefighters carried out what they called an “epic” rescue, hoisting nine hikers and their guide to safety after they became stranded on a steep section of Serra dos Órgãos National Park in Teresópolis.
