Thousands expected to be impacted by NJ Transit strike
NJ TRANSIT rail engineers are set to strike Friday for the first time in decades. This comes after a deal was not reached by the Thursday midnight deadline. More than 300,000 commuters are expected to be impacted as early as Friday morning. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen's national president Mark Wallace and chairman at NJT Tom Haas gave a press conference after contract negotiators between union representatives and NJ Transit leadership could not reach an agreement. The strike goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. ET Friday.
